A massive crowd of 5,500 marvelled at the sounds, sights and tastes of cultures from every corner of the globe at this year’s CultureFest.

The annual event prides itself on bringing the diversity of Selwyn to Lincoln’s backyard. Of the 51 different food sellers, several food stalls sold out. Eighteen groups put on fantastic performances, with the audience packing out Nicholas Hall.

Mayor Sam Broughton says it was amazing to see people so excited to share their culture and customs with each other and celebrate all cultures that make up Selwyn.Mayor Sam Brought watching performances with his daughter on his lap clapping

“Thank you to every stall holder, cultural community group and contributor that dedicated their time to make this event something to remember for the community. We are looking forward to seeing what next year’s CultureFest holds.”

The Council is already beginning preparations for CultureFest 2025, with hopes of attracting more cultures and people to its festivities.
